February Wrap-Up! || 2018

Well hello! I am writing to you from Cork, Ireland – how exciting! Well, not all 100% exciting if you read my previous post and know why I’m here. I’ve just settled in at my granddad’s place after approximately 2927161 hours of travelling to get here. Seriously, whew. What a lot of travelling. Which means I’ve got time to do some blogging and fill you in on how February went!

February seemed like a weird month for reading. Quite a few things happened (as mentioned in previous post) and just in general I wasn’t on fire with my reading. But I did still manage to get four books read which isn’t all that bad at all. I have to say, right about now I’m feeling raring to go with my reading so I think March will be good for progress!

As usual, let’s start this off by having a look at all the bookish deals going on around the book world.

What I Read

Invictus
by Ryan Graudin

Genre: Sci-Fi, Young Adult
Author: Ryan Graudin

Finally managed to finish this one off! I’ve had this on the go since Christmas but kept getting distracted reading other books. This was really entertaining to read but I have a lot of mixed feelings about the story over all. I’m eager to sit down and vent all my thoughts in a lengthy review soon.

Holy guacamole this book was insanely good! I’ve had this on my TBR for such a long time and finally – FINALLY – I got around to reading it. This made its way straight onto my all time favourites list because I just can’t get over how much I enjoyed it. This is everything you could ever want from a WWII story.

I had the physical copy of this book but knew I wasn’t going to get around to it very quickly so decided to nab the audiobook edition. It was an odd book but in the end very unique and enjoyable. I’d very much so love to watch the TV series and see that interpretation of it!

What About Me_

February was not as good a reading month as January for me, but I’m still happy with four. I’ve been working a heap and participated in round five of the Alphabethon. I didn’t actually finish a book during that week but hey ho, what can you do?

I went to see the Rocky Horror Show with Jayden which was fun as expected! Such a wicked musical. We also checked out the Aviation Museum which had a bunch of awesome planes to look at. They were all WWII planes which were so cool and we maybe got a model plane that we’re putting together . . . I will neither confirm nor deny this epic stoop into true nerdom.

We had an artist festival on for a couple of weeks in Perth as well called Fringe. I ended up seeing two shows – one was an Australian comedian called Chopper doing a stand-up show called Bogan Jesus (which was beyond hilarious). The second was a Taiwanese drumming group which was a 70 minute high-intensity performance that was just insane.

Other than that, nothing overly exiting to report. I didn’t watch much at all in February, oops. Better try harder in March!

Movies I watched:

Paddington 2, 2017: 7/10 stars

Somehow, I only managed to watch one film in February – what even! But Paddington 2 was just as good as the first one and thoroughly enjoyable. I watched this at an outdoor cinema, too! Which was really nice.

Tick! February done!

What was your favourite book that you read in February?

Happy Reading
