March was nowhere near as good as I thought it would be. On the back of DNFing two books in February which I have yet to discuss, I’ve been somewhat in a slump. And just plain old busy. EXCUSES.

March was weird though, yeah? Weird on so many levels. I’m now doing uni completely online and work has slowed down but as of yet, I’m still in the office. No rest for the weary. But despite my best efforts, reading was difficult. I finally finished the Lara Jean series (didn’t super duper love it) and picked up at the end finishing all three books for March in about 10 days, but ACH. How annoying. Why I can’t I read 20 books a month: how is this sorcery done?!

This is the third and final book in the Lara Jean trilogy and honestly, I wasn’t blown away. This felt like the same story as book two and as much as I like the characters, nothing terribly, terribly exciting happened in this. But I also feel I just wasn’t in the right mood for that.

I love this series and I love Tamora Pierce: these are truths. I just find her writing so innocent and enjoyable with lots of fun adventure thrown into the mix. I like the way that Pierce builds relationships in these books and can’t wait to see what happens next.

Another brilliant memoir ticked off the list. I’m really enjoying reading about some of my favourite comedic celebrities’ lives. They’re so entertaining and always insightful. I found it amazing the number of similarities I drew between Cleese and Stephen Fry!

I love how every month I sit down to write this section and completely forget everything that happened in the previous month. What the hell happened in March except for COVID?

Okay I think one of the only things that happened in March was that I saw Margaret Atwood talk at the beginning of the month. That was incredible. The actual interviewer was awful and was so bad at asking questions and keeping the discussion going. However, Margaret was absolutely amazing and managed to make the best of a bad situation.

There were supposed to be several things that I did have planned but thanks to the world going crazy, all of those got cancelled. So really, I don’t have much more to update you on!

Movies I Watched

Galaxy Quest, 1999: 6/10 stars

I watched this with my family and what a strange night that was. This is a super retro sci-fi film that was quite funny if not quite the brilliant standard of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, to which I couldn’t help comparing it to. But hey, if you ever need a good laugh, this is it.

Military Wives, 2019: 8/10 stars

This was amazing! I couldn’t believe how much I absolutely loved this. I hadn’t heard a lot about this film before seeing it but it’s really touching and powerful and I can’t recommend it enough.

Frozen II, 2019: /10 stars

This was a re-watch for me and ah, what a beauty. Frozen II is some excellent content and Lost in the Woods is possibly one of my favourite ever songs. So entertaining. Pure gold.
