The Versatile Blogger Award

Okay so I was tagged to do this one approximately three millennia ago, but it’s fine. It’s fine. I haven’t done one of these fact things about myself for a little while so let’s chat about STUFF, shall we?

Thanks Reg @ She Latitude for tagging me, and more recently Beth @ Reading Every Night for getting me on to actually doing the silly thing! So, these are the ‘rules’:

Show the award on your blog
Thank the person that has nominated you.
Share 8 different facts about yourself.
Nominate a few blogs of your choice
Link your nominees and let them know of your nomination

One

I play the piano.

I actually find it really funny when someone discovers this for the first time – the reaction is usually like OH WOW WHAT – as if I just announced that I live on the moon. But yes, I play piano.

Two

I am attempting to write a book.

And I have every intention of finishing it. I just find it really difficult to squeeze in writing whilst I’m studying for uni. So I’m hoping this summer holidays will be the time!

Three

I used to do gymnasts.

I competed internationally for gymnastics and did the sport for 10 years! Which means I’ve broken far too many things in my body than any normal 20-year-old should’ve done.

Four

I read books in Italian as well as English.

I do this because I study Italian at university and a girl’s gotta practice. It’s quite fun reading in another language that you’re not so adept at because you notice lots of little things from paying just that much more attention.

Five

I have three cats.

And their names are: Smartie, Freckle and Flake. Because why give your pets normal names when you can name them after chocolate?

Six

Amongst others, I’ve met Sean Astin, John Barrowman, Bradley James, and Billie Piper.

And I fangirled just as much as you’re imagining I did.

Seven

My favourite city in the world is probably Venice.

Because that city, damn. It sure is beautiful. I love how terrifyingly easy it is to get lost in. The fun thing to do in Venice is to see how many people you can hear having arguments about which direction to go in.

Eight

I’m a Whovian!

But you knew that one, right?

I tag you! I’d love to know 8 facts about everyone who reads this so make sure you go and write this post RIGHT NOW and then come back and link me in it so I can have a read and do some “oohing” and “aaahing”.

  1. Great facts! I did know you were a Whovian, I remember the TTT post you did about it a while back. 🙂
It’s great you play the piano, I would have loved to learn when I was younger but I picked up the clarinet and guitar instead, and I’m trying to learn Italian as well so maybe one day I’ll be able to read books in Italian as well! It’s great to have that skill, to be able to speak another language, and I bet it comes in handy when you go to Venice as well right! 😀

    1. Haha thanks! Yes Tis pretty hard to disguise my love of Doctor Who 😂 Clarinet is amazing! I really want to know how to play guitar and cello – but one thing at a time, ahah.

Ooh, are you using the Duolingo app? I’m thinking I might use it to get a kickstart for some other languages. It’s always amazing to read in another language – to have that moment to be like, damn, I’m cool, haha. Sure did come in handy in Venice!! 😄

      1. Well it is a brilliant show isn’t it?!
I kind of need to pick up my instruments again, I haven’t played in ages but I think it would be good to try and learn again.
Yeah I use Duolingo, it is a great app and really handy for picking up languages as well, I’d recommend checking it out! 😀

  2. Yay, thanks for doing the tag! Sooo jealous that you’ve been to Venice – from pictures it looks like the best thing ever and I’d love to be there one day. 🙂

I play the piano too – I haven’t played in a while, but I had maybe like 10 years of lessons, easy. Definitely lacking practice now, though. 😂

    Good luck with your book!

  3. OOOOOHHHH AHHHH! No but seriously I loved getting to know you a little more.

That is awesome that you play piano. I took lessons as a young kid but didn’t stick with it, now I wish I had.

I am highly impressed that you used to compete in gymnastics! I think gymnastics is one of the toughest sports out there, but people don’t realize how much strength it takes!

I used to have a dog named Freckles. She had spots all over her nose, hence her name. I didn’t know there was a chocolate brand called Freckle though? Is this an Aussie thing?
