Oh jolly good, you’ve returned for the second part of Wednesday! Despite taunting myself repeatedly by doing this feature and thus reminding myself how many books I want and how long some of them have been on my wishlist – I’ve managed to refrain from buying books for basically all of September so far! Let’s all give me a round of applause.
Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted @ Pen to Paper where we get to feature a book that’s been on our wishlist for a long time that we want to buy/read! I have a hugely extensive list that I keep updated over on The Book Depository so I’m never short of books that I’m wishing on.
Where do I make my lists? First and foremost I use my “sound good” shelf on Goodreads where I basically keep track of all the books I’ve encountered that tickle my fancy. BUT, The Book Depository has my most concise list of all the books that I so dearly want to throw my money at and look at one my shelf.
This week I’m wishing on . . .

Since the age of three, sixteen-year-old Evelyn Winters has been trained to be Daughter of the People in the underwater utopia known as Elysium. Selected from hundreds of children for her ideal genes, all her life she’s thought that everything was perfect; her world. Her people. The Law.
But when Gavin Hunter, a Surface Dweller, accidentally stumbles into their secluded little world, she’s forced to come to a startling realization: everything she knows is a lie.
Her memories have been altered.
Her mind and body aren’t under her own control.
And the person she knows as Mother is a monster.
Together with Gavin she plans her escape, only to learn that her own mind is a ticking time bomb… and Mother has one last secret that will destroy them all.
I’ve had my eye on this one for such a long time. I’ve also heard nothing but good things about this series – although to be fair I also haven’t heard much, full stop, about this series. I just think that the cover is beautiful and the whole utopia concept thing just has me HOOKED. Doesn’t it sound deliciously freaky with the character’s memories being alternate, etc? YES IT DOES. *grabby hands*
I love this little niche of books from about 2011-13 which I somehow missed back in the day but get to longingly look at now. It’s like finding little hidden gems!
This sounds really interesting!! Definitely going to check it out! Here is my WoW: https://pageturner20.wordpress.com/2016/09/14/waiting-on-wednesday-31/
