This month’s theme:
Journal Junkie
This box just makes my month. It’s so terribly exciting to receive a whole box of bookish stuff each month. I was, admittedly, a little disappointed with March’s box but April was definitely a whole bunch better. Not to mention the book sounds über mysterious.
What this box is: The YA Chronicles is a bookish subscription company that releases one box a month filled with one YA new release and 2-5 little goodies. The boxes are themed and they are FABULOUS. They are also an Australian company.
So let’s have a look inside . . .
The Box
And voila! There was a good bundle of stuff in this month’s box and I’m really pleased with it. Again, it’s not *quite* my favourite box, mostly because I don’t use washi tape and I’m not sure what to do with the stickers. I think I’ll have to start a scrap book or something. Nonetheless! I’m really happy with everything and I can’t wait for next month’s.
The Book
This is Where the World Ends by Amy Zhang
Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary
Author: Amy Zhang
Published: March 2016
Publisher: Greenwillow Books
Pages: 287 {paperback}
This is definitely the best bit about this box. This book sounds creepy and amazing. It’s one of those with a super vague blurb so you’re not quite sure what you’re getting. I definitely think this will be one to read at night with a cup of hot chocolate and rain on the window.
Some Swanky Washi Tape
You’ve got to admit that despite me not knowing what to do with this, it’s pretty cool. What do you use washi tape for? Well, I took this question to the internet and found that Buzzfeed (article) had a marvellous answer. There are some seriously cool ideas and reading that article has made me want to buy more of the silly stuff. I’m really tempted to decorate my keyboard . . .
A Motivational Notebook

This notebook is fantastic. On the inside it’s super cute with a space to write notes and to make To Do lists, complete with little circle to tick off. I’ve already started using it for uni to keep on top of those pesky assignments. Plus if I had one weakness, then it’s probably my obsessive list-making.

Stickers!

And finally, the stickers! I actually really like the stickers that I’ve received from this subscription box so far. I’ve got a really cute set featuring Throne of Glass characters which I like to look at. These ones say ‘currently reading’ and I’m debating where to stick them. Perhaps I’ll use them in a travel journal to make note of what I was reading whilst travelling. Hmm.

Volume Nine
This was definitely a good box this month which means of course I’ve got the next box, volume nine, ordered! Volume Nine’s theme is Summer Daze Driftin’ Away which is a curious theme and I have my suspicions as to what will be in it but I’m relatively poor at guessing games!
I think the travel journal would be a great idea! I’m obsessed with the stickers; they’re so adorable!

Absolutely love the stickers. And the notebook. Nothing more motivational than that message. Haha

Omg I love that journal. 😂 JOURNALS ARE SO FUN. I’m like an obsessive journal collector-but-never-user (which is super weird, but eh.) And the washi tape is nice! I don’t know how to use washi tape either. GAH. I want to do one of those super cool bullet journals and decorate with washi tape BUT TIME. WHO HAS TIME FOR THAT? NOT ME. SOMEONE GET ME A TIME TURNER. Ahem.
Also I hope you like This Is Where The World Ends! I much preferred Amy Zhang’s first book, sadly…this one was a bit problematic for me. BUT I’M PICKY. 😂 So I hope you love it!! and it does have a super cool fairy tale vibe too. (The cover is amazing right!??)

Argh I’ve started becoming a journal hoarder too! I will have to travel more (or maybe just leave the house?) to have some exciting things to write about! A time turner would be most fabulous. And yes I’m loving the cover! It semi-terrifies me because the falling feather seems so…. *shudders*

Your images are inspiring me to slyly incorporate Doctor Who into my blog as well! I have Amy Zhang’s other book, Falling Into Place, on my Kindle but I haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. It looks like she has an interesting writing style.
