Well, well, well. We meet again! Today is Tuesday and we all know what that means . . . A LIST! Tuesday is rapidly becoming my favourite days of the week, I must say. There’s is no greater joy in the world (apart from Harry Potter and chocolate) than making lists.

Top Ten Tuesday (or TTT) is a weekly bookish meme hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish where a new topic is listed for every up-coming Tuesday and we bloggers get to make a list and share them around. It’s an horrendous bucket of fun. Anyone can join so do link up on the official page if you make your list so everyone can admire how beautiful your post is!

Top Ten Books I’ve Recently Added To My TBR

Now, my TBR (which you can view in full HERE on Goodreads) are the books that I own. So if I were to stick with the guidelines here I’d be making a rehashing of my latest book haul. So! Instead I’m going to make this list based off my “sound good” shelf on Goodreads – this shelf is my way of cataloging books I think sound good and would like to buy in the future once I’ve defeated some more books on my enormous TBR.

So I don’t actually own any of the following books . . . yet. Why do I bother distinguishing between the book I do and do not own? Because on my “sound good” shelf there are over 400 books, and on my “to read” shelf there are just over 150 (shh, I’m working on it). It helps to organise my reading life, basically. This list is in order of the latest books I’ve added to this shelf. Let’s get to it!

I keep seeing this book everywhere, it’s obviously a very popular book but I myself haven’t heard much about it in my daily wanderings. I watched a video where someone hauled this book recently and decided that that was it and I needed to add this to a list. From what I can tell this is a Fantasy, Middlegrade/Children’s Fiction novel.

It sounds like a super fun book so I can’t wait for the day when I buy it!

I’ve seen a lot of Atkinson’s work around lately, in particular her other book A God In Ruins, and I saw a review of this book and thought it sounded really interesting. It revolves around this character who dies on many occasions throughout the book and is reborn in different situations . . . at least I think that’s the premise. It’s something close if not.

This ‘rebirth’ idea really tickled my fancy and I think next time I see this at a good price and I feel like buying a book, this will be the one I get.

I found this book on the Goodreads recommendations page and originally turned my nose up at it . . . and then went back to the page because I saw the ‘descendant of Medusa’ line in the description. I think this is an interesting sounding book, I don’t know if I’ll be buying or borrowing a copy of it any time soon but I’m certainly interested in what it has to offer.

Now, I’m sure this is a book that 99% of you have heard of. The movie has recently been released in Australia (and I got to see a premiere showing of it!) and is coming out soon in the USA . . I don’t know about everywhere else, sorry. It’s a post-apocalyptic movie where an alien invasion happens over the US and everyone dies, just about.

I really enjoyed the movie and was determined that I didn’t want to read the book (originally, the summary just did not appeal to me), but now I absolutely will be buying this in my next book haul. It is inevitable.

Rise of the Arcane Fire by Kristin Bailey

This is the sequel in The Secret Order series, the first book I’ve just recently read, Legacy of the Clockwork Key, and it was really awesome. This is a steampunk series set in the 1800s, London and it’s ridiculously enjoyable.

I won’t post a synopsis for this one as it is the second book in a series and that would spoil it for all you lovely people about to go and pick up a copy to read, yes?

I discovered this book via a Goodreads group that I moderate (Fantasy Lovers – feel free to join!) as someone mentioned it in one of our discussions. I think this sounds like there’s a lot of action and fun to be had within the pages and even the cover has a super dystopic feel to it. Next time I’m in the mood for some dystopian books I will throw this into the cart. However, for some reason it’s really expensive on The Book Depository at the moment >>sad face<< .

This sounds like some kind of twisted historical fantasy, which I think will make for a really exciting read. If I’m being honest, anything that involves breaking a curse is right up my alley – especially if there are dragons involved . . .not that there are in this book, I’m just saying.

This was another book that I discovered via suggestions on my Goodreads group. In any case, it’s categorised as YA Fantasy: I’m in.

I actually found this book whilst scrolling through some sales on the website Booktopia and I thought, hey ho, that looks like a lot of fun. At what point was I won over for this book? When Hades was mentioned. What is it with Greek Mythology that’s just so enticing? You will more than likely see this in a future book haul, I imagine.

Redeployment by Phil Klay

I first heard about this book on Regan’s YouTube channel, PeruseProject (specifically, in THIS video), and she has really similar interests to me when it comes to history. So of course her high praise of this book meant that I went and added it to my list. I think this will be a really powerful read and I will definitely buy it at some point in the future.

It would be great to get around to reading this book this year as this is a National Book Award winner and that is one of the criteria on Pop Sugar’s 2016 reading challenge!

Following on in the war theme, I recently discovered this book. I absolutely adore the cover and that made me want to check it out further. It sounds like it’s going to be a really powerful read and possibly quite sad seeing as it’s set during WWII and our protagonist is very young. This is another on this list that I will definitely be buying at some point!
