Hello my lovely, jubly friends. I have some delightfully fantastic news to share with you today. It’s genuinely so very exciting and if you don’t choke on whatever beverage your drinking, trip-up whilst walking, or gasp out loud when I tell you, then you’re simply not excited enough. So allow me to waffle on for a bit so that you can prepare yourself for an outburst of empathetic JOY.
I think we need to start this off by re-introducing myself to you. So. Hi I’m Kirstie.
I’m 20 years old.
I’m a student at the University of Western Australia.
So, spoiler, I live in Australia (although I’m also British).
I study History and Italian.
I like books (didn’t see that one coming did you?).
I’m a Disney Fanatic.
But I’m most intimidating when I start raving about Doctor Who.
And don’t even get me started on Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock.
Nor shall we speak of Merlin because WHY DID IT HAVE TO END.
My favourite colour is Green.
My favourite food is Spaghetti.
My favourite city is Venice.
My favourite book is Tiger’s Curse.
My favourite Disney movie is Tarzan.
But my favourite Disney character is Mulan.
I drink tea obsessively.
I do not drink coffee obsessively.
I am, in fact, writing a book.
And I’m a Gryffindor with a Ragdoll Cat Patronus (important things last, guys).
Lovely to meet you.
I bet you’re all tingling with excitement at what it is I’m about to tell you. So alright, I’ll put you out of your misery:
I’M MOVING TO FLORIDA, USA
I feel like the “USA” bit there was unnecessary. You probably knew what I meant by just Florida. Anyway. Yes! I am temporarily moving to Florida next year because I’m going to be working in Disney World! (CUE THE GASPING).
I found out recently that I’d been accepted into a program to work at the park basically for a bit of fun but also to learn important things about working in aย big positively enormous company and make friends. And I am so excited I may just spontaneously combust.
I don’t feel like I need to explain what Disney World is, but just in case you live on another planet and haven’t heard of it, it’s a theme park WHERE ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING IS DISNEY AND FUN. And I get to work there. ARE YOU BREATHING? I’M NOT.
I’m going to have so much fun, that is a guarantee. I’m absolutely thrilled to be going and I can’t wait. But that does mean I’m moving to the furthest place I could possibly go to from Perth (actually, is the North Pole farther?). At the moment, I’m going to be there for 6 months working in merchandising (novelty mugs anyone?) but I could potentially be staying longer.
I’m finishing my uni degree at the end of the year so I’m thrilled to have something lined up to dive right into. It’s going to be such an adventure. I have no idea when I’m going to be back in Australia at this point because I’ll be free as a bird and might spontaneously decide to go and live in Himalayas. You just never know.
But now, the important business
Am I going to keep blogging? The short answer, is yes. I have every intention of doing so. My trusty laptop shall be flying across the world with me and I hope I will have time to continue ranting and raving about everything bookish with you guys. But I do know, from experience, that it’s really hard to keep up with blogging when you’re abroad.
I’m going to keep reading, and gosh dangit am I going to order from Amazon just to see how quickly packages arrive for you Americans – and I can’t not write reviews if I’m reading. I simply cannot function without writing reviews. I will absolutely be keeping up with my monthly feature but things like Top Ten Tuesday might drop off. But still! Who knows?! I have no idea how much time I’ll have but I positively love you all too much to just disappear. I’ll be keeping everyone updated via twitter and instagram as to what I’m doing AND, if you’re going to be in Disney World, Florida between January and June next year (which is 2017) let me know! I’d love to see you and give you a hug (plus a perfect excuse to go to Disney World, am I right?).
ย “If you can dream it, you can do it”
So in short, I shall be popping off to the other side of the world AGAIN but this time slightly more permanently. I cannot wait to get to Disney World and I’m thrilled to start what is probably going to be one of the best experiences of my life. I am literally making a dream come true – don’t deny that you’ve wanted to just live in Disney World forever. WELL, watch me.
That is sooooo exciting! Have fun! ๐

Wow this is amazing. I feel like working in Disney World is a dream most people have at one point in their life but for you it’s actually a reality. I imagine it will be an amazing experience and hopefully a really enjoyable one as well. It must feel weird moving all the way to the other side of the world but that will be an adventure in and of itself right?
Also great to see you’ll still be blogging as well while you’re in Florida! ๐
Congrats on your new job Kirstie, and yeah it must be great knowing you have something once you’ve finished uni! ๐

Thanks Beth! I’m so so so excited for it and you bet it’ll be an adventure! I’m sure I’ll have at least three great stories of mishaps of me trying to get from A to B. I feel like I’ve been given a pass to suspend reality for a while and just have fun! ๐โค๏ธ

How very exciting! I remember my visit as a child and it really was magical. I hope this is a wonderful experience and that the Florida heat is nicer to you than me haha ๐

My first reaction was, “You’re moving?? Nooooo!” because you’re in Australia and you’re like, one of only sixish people on here I speak to who are in the same country as me. And then I saw why you were moving and I GOT SO EXCITED FOR YOU! That really is the most amazing thing – you’re going to have the best time. Imagine how great it’ll be to just sing Disney songs all day and not have people looking at you funny.
