I feel like I’ve covered so many book in this weekly meme but then I was thinking about things and realised that I’ll only feature 52 of the hundreds of books that come out in a year. So that made me feel better. It also made me motivated to go a-hunting and find some more up and coming realeases.
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine. Each week we feature a book that’s being released at some point in the future and wobble around the internet professing our potentially premature love of the book. Because that is the only sensible thing to do when faced with SHINY NEW GOODIES. I recommend heading over to the offical page to check out the link up as there are some awesome and unknown books floating about other people’s posts.
This week I’m waiting on . . .

Sixteen-year-old Jaxon is being committed to video game rehab . . .
ten minutes after he met a girl. A living, breathing girl named Serena, who not only laughed at his jokes but actually kinda sorta seemed excited when she agreed to go out with him.
Jaxon’s first date. Ever.
In rehab, he can’t blast his way through galaxies to reach her. He can’t slash through armies to kiss her sweet lips. Instead, he has just four days to earn one million points by learning real-life skills. And he’ll do whatever it takes—lie, cheat, steal, even learn how to cross-stitch—in order to make it to his date.
If all else fails, Jaxon will have to bare his soul to the other teens in treatment, confront his mother’s absence, and maybe admit that it’s more than video games that stand in the way of a real connection.
Prepare to be cured.
Apart from having a ridiculously fun cover, I think this book sounds awesome. I love the idea of this socially inept lad trying to win this girl over and having a very small chance at being able to do so. I think this will be an outrageously funny read with plenty of wonderfully quote-worthy moments and adorable characters.
This is also one of these weird moments when part of the reason I want to read this is fueled by the fact that Simon & Schuster are publishing it. I’m really not sure where this registers in my mind as a well if they’re publishing it . . . sort of thing but apparently it does. I so, so, so hope that this book is a funny as it seems to promise!
What are you waiting on?

This is true! I know nothing about them either! But I’m hoping that it might be like Ready Player One (not that I’ve read it) as everyone seems to enjoy that one still. Let’s face it, I’m here for the cover haha
