Hi everyone! It’s Wednesday so that means we’re kicking off the day with another Waiting on Wednesday! WoW is a weekly meme hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine where each week we get to feature and up-and-coming book and talk about it. So really, it’s just a perfect excuse to make our TBRs even bigger! Hooray!
This week I’m waiting on . . .
Roseblood by A. G. Howard
This better be a series.
Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy, Retelling (Phantom of the Opera)
Author: A. G. Howard
Publisher: Abrams
Pages: 400 {hardback}
RELEASE DATE: January 2017
// PRE-ORDER //
Now, I know I’m cheating here because you might have noticed when this comes out and gasped when you saw the release date is in 2017. BUT WHATEVER. Because are you seeing this? Are you?! You may not be aware of my Alice in Wonderland retelling addiction (this is related, bear with me) but if you show me a book you need only say those three words and I am sold. Now. Howard is the author of the Splintered trilogy which is one of such retellings. AND IT’S SO BRILLIANT OMG. Howard is hands down one of my favourite authors and I am in love with her debut trilogy. So when I found out about this one, I died. Want to know why?
This is a retelling on Phantom of the Opera.
Did ya get that? Did ya?! I can’t even. I’m so excited. You might be wondering if I’m equally as obsessed with Phantom as I am with Alice but I’m actually not. I’m just waaay over excited that we’re getting another retelling from the beautiful human being that is A. G. Howard. *internal screaming*. The cover is beyond beautiful and the cover release actually only happened a couple of weeks ago, hence me doing this today. I seriously cannot wait for this, it’s going to be mind-blowing, I just know it.
Jump Through the Looking Glass in Splintered . . .
Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers—precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.

Yay I’m so excited that you loved Splintered, too! I really hope this is just as good and I’m sure it will be! I’m also loving how despite it being a different series the covers have the same sort of thing. It’s going to make for a really pretty collection on my bookshelf!!

I know, right?! I read an interview where she talked about the cover and how there was a different one originally but she ended up deciding she wants all of her books to look similar so you’ll know it’s one of hers. Which I happen to think is a really smart idea.
