Wishlist Wednesday [#2]

Wednesday take two!! Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted @ Pen to Paper where we get to feature a book that’s been on our wishlist for a long time that we want to buy/read! I have a hugely extensive list that I keep updated over on The Book Depository so I’m never short of books that I’m wishing on.

Where do I make my lists? First and foremost I use my “sound good” shelf on Goodreads where I basically keep track of all the books I’ve encountered that tickle my fancy. BUT, The Book Depository has my most concise list of all the books that I so dearly want to throw my money at and look at one my shelf.

 This week I’m wishing on . . .

Need a Hero?

You’ve got one in Sir Michael Sevenson.

Although there hasn’t been a knight errant in over two hundred years, this young noble has decided to revive the trade. He’s found himself a reluctant partner in Fisk, a clever rogue who has been given the choice of serving as Michael’s squire or going to jail for a very long time. Now Michael and Fisk are on a quest to right wrongs, protect the innocent, and make the world a happier place.

It’s not going to be easy. On their first attempt at rescuing a damsel in distress, they break a lady out of a tower, only to discover she was there for good reason: awaiting trial for poisoning her husband. Now the would-be heroes must find Lady Ceciel and return her to justice or be condemned themselves.

So this is actually suffering the from the same malady as my previous Wishlist Wednesday: it be out of stock. I pretty much buy all my books from The Book Depository as they have the best deals for Australia – but I haven’t seen this anywhere else! It doth break heart.

I think this book sounds ridiculously fun. It sounds like we’re going to be galavanting around attempting to be a hero and being more of a goldfish instead. I sooo want to read this. I could probably try the library . . . but what fun is that? Then I’d just have to return the book, pah! I’m wishing on this because I want someone to take my money and give me a book that I can KEEP FOREVER.

Okay, I could actually buy this in hardback off the BD but I way prefer the paperback cover. I mean, look at this monstrosity:

In all fairness, I suppose it’s *not* that bad. But the other one HAS A SWORD AND GREEN COLOURS. This is . . . well, hm. It’s probably stunning in person or something and I shouldn’t be judging books by their cover quite to harshly. BUT WHATEVER.
