Having gone into January determined to buy very few books I, of course, ended up with quite a few more than none. Hey ho! What can you do?
January was a great month of reading for me so my book buying is entirely justified – besides, who really wants a TBR of zero? That’d be terrifying. I did want to wait a bit longer to do this haul as I’m waiting on one more book to arrive but I then I realised just how many I already have accumulated since my last haul . . .
The haul mostly consists of my choosing of some books with some Christmas money, a visit to a second hand bookstore, a visit to the library sale section, the arrival of a subscription box, and one book that didn’t make it into the last haul.
Completing the Series!
One of the things I did last month was buy the remaining Ranger’s Apprentice books that I have to read. I borrowed the first 8 off a friend but decided I really want to own them. These covers are so beautiful and shiny, I can’t wait to read them!
Halt’s Peril by John Flanagan [book #9]
The Emperor of Nihon-Ja by John Flanagan [book #10]
The Lost Stories by John Flanagan [book #11]
The Royal Ranger by John Flanagan [book #12]
To the Library!
Cait over @ PaperFury recently hauled some books from her local library which planted the thought in my mind that I really wanted to go check out my local library. So of course I did. I was sensible though, I only bought two – both of which I’ve been dying to get my hands on for ages! Win!
Bridget Jones’ Diary by Helen Fielding

The Handmaid’s Tale by Magaret Atwood

When I found ‘Pulp Fiction’ Secondhand Books
I didn’t even know this store existed. But some family friends gave me a $9.00 voucher that they didn’t want (crazy, I know) so I skipped off to the store to check it out. I usually expect little of second hand bookstores, the books are either tatty or not what I want. But oh my goodness this had so much that I wanted. I restricted myself to three books.
Never Always Sometimes by Adi Alsaid
The Girl with the Iron Touch by Kady Cross

Half Bad by Sally Green

What’s in the Box?
You might’ve seen this in my unboxing of the subscription box (click here to see it). This came through the company The YA Chronicles who are absolutely fabulous and I’m way over excited about this book. Pirates + Time Travel = very happy Kirstie.
Passenger by Alexandra Bracken
The Christmas Straggler
Finally we have the last Christmas book that was sent to me from my uncle and aunt. I didn’t realise that there was a third book coming from them otherwise I would’ve waited and done it in my previous book haul. Nonetheless, this is a greatly talked about book and I can’t wait to get on to it!
A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray
I’m really excited to get to all of these – in particular I can’t wait to finish the Ranger’s Apprentice series! It seems it’s impossible to go long without accumulating books. On the up side I didn’t spend much money on all of these – the two books from the library were only $1.50AUD each so why would I not buy those at that price?
I’ll be doing another haul at the end of February with at least three books that I have in the pipeline!
Great haul! 🙂
