Another great addition to this series! I just love how cute and cosy this crime series is. Once again, we are following our main cast of characters, and Murder Most British takes us to the heart of wartime London thick with smog and chock-block full of action.
The sweet and simple nature of this series is what makes it so enjoyable to read. After finishing book one, I was ready to tuck into some more cosy crime adventures with the same characters, but the unexpected added bonus is the character development that occurs along the way. This is a series that is absolutely worth reading in chronological order because of this reason.
I loved Lucy Adlington's writing in The Red Ribbon, and while this is non-fiction rather than historical fiction, I loved her writing in this just as much. This is a very poignant and well-researched novel on a group of women who survived Auschwitz in part thanks to their sewing abilities.
This was a brilliant and emotional historical fiction novel. Having read The Last Bookshop in London I had reasonably high expectations for this one, and I was not disappointed.
