How to Cheat a Dragon’s Curse by Cressida Cowell | Book Review

【 HOW TO CHEAT A DRAGON’S CURSE 】

book #4 in the How to Train Your Dragon series

Rating: 4 out of 5.

You can’t go wrong by starting a book with adolescent vikings skiing.

Genre: Fantasy, Middle Grade
Author: Cressida Cowell
Published: September 2007
Publisher: Hodder & Stoughton
Pages: 261 (paperback)

This was a rollicking adventure in true How to Train Your Dragon style. From Fishlegs having some crazy moments (of which no one is sure whether he’s berserk or unwell) to Hiccup chasing his tail trying to solve riddles, this was just nonstop hilarity.

I thought it added a good dollop of fun having a race-against-the-clock vibe for this book as Hiccup is on a mission to find a cure for Fishlegs. Even better, the fact that the cure is a potato (which is this unheard of vegetable to vikings). Everything about this was ridiculous and glorious.

There was action to be had on every page, and it had one of the most delightfully frustrating endings I’ve ever read.

Like I said, vikings + skiing = a guaranteed good time.
