Thanks to Walker Books for a copy of this for review.

This was a sweet story but oh my goodness it was information overload. I’ve not read any of Nature Storybooks before so this came as a surprise to me. As much as it’s a cool way to learn with kids, it was so much information – and even as an adult I struggled to have the patience to read this in one sitting.

This would have worked better for me if the factual elements of this had been broken into dot-point chunks, or something similar. It would have made the reading experience less overwhelming.

But if you’re looking for a book that will teach you lots about echidnas and has fun illustrations as well as quirky story, then this might just be it. Putting my attention span aside, I really did learn some stuff from this!
