Welcome back to Wednesday! Sheesh, I’ve had a busy day so far. I’ve officially got my visa sorted for working in the US next year which is super exciting! I’ve been out for lunch, I’ve smashed out a book review (for Blood for Blood, going up tomorrow) and I’m going to attempt to write an essay before I head out to watch an Italian movie in a bit. Gah. What a day.
Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted @ Pen to Paper where we get to feature a book that’s been on our wishlist for a long time that we want to buy/read! I have a hugely extensive list that I keep updated over on The Book Depository so I’m never short of books that I’m wishing on.
Where do I make my lists? First and foremost I use my “sound good” shelf on Goodreads where I basically keep track of all the books I’ve encountered that tickle my fancy. BUT, The Book Depository has my most concise list of all the books that I so dearly want to throw my money at and look at one my shelf.
This week I’m wishing on . . .
Earth & Sky
by Megan Crewe
Genre: Young Adult, Sci-Fi [Aliens]
Author: Megan Crewe
Published: October 2014
Publisher: Razorbill
Pages: 304 {hardback}
Seventeen-year-old Skylar has been haunted for as long as she can remember by fleeting yet powerful sensations that something is horribly wrong. But despite the panic attacks tormenting her, nothing ever happens, and Sky’s beginning to think she’s crazy. Then she meets a mysterious, otherworldly boy named Win and discovers the shocking truth her premonitions have tapped into: our world no longer belongs to us. For thousands of years, Earth has been at the mercy of alien scientists who care nothing for its inhabitants and are using us as the unwitting subjects of their time-manipulating experiments. Win belongs to a rebel faction seeking to put a stop to it, and he needs Skylar’s help–but with each shift in the past, the very fabric of reality is unraveling, and soon there may be no Earth left to save.
Um, this book sounds fabulous. It has been on my Wishlist since the beginning of time because I literally could not ask for a better Alien Sci-Fi story. How I haven’t bought this yet is beyond me. I love the whole concept of everything being not as it seems and our protagonist sensing something wrong. Not to mention and probably gorgeous boy with an adorable name coming in to help save the day.
SERIOUSLY. Aliens quietly taking over our planet. WHY ARE WE STILL SITTING HERE?!
