Hello everyone! It’s Wednesday so that means it’s that wonderful day of the week where we get to look at some new books coming out and get VERY EXCITED. Because we’re fully qualified TBR-Fuelers capable of increasing the never ending pile of books to terrifyingly large numbers.
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine. Each week we feature one book that is coming out (relatively) soon and talk about it!
This week I’m waiting on . . .
Clash of Alliances by Pierre Dimaculangan
Book number 2 in Trials of the Middle Kingdoms
Genre: Fantasy, Historical Fiction
Author: Pierre Dimaculangan
Publisher: Lulu
Pages: Unknown
RELEASE DATE: Late 2016
The “misfits” from the previous book and 2 sibling Martial Academicians have been volunteered to accompany Sun Xin on a mission to gather information regarding the Underworld as it continues to gather its forces against the Ming. While trying to track down Sun Xin’s trusted contact, they enter a forbidden pass and encounter something they never would have expected or believed.
So this one is somewhat left of centre. I read the first book in this series, The Sage, The Swordsman and the Scholar earlier this year for review and I really enjoyed it. This series is something just a smidgen different – focussing on fantasy mixed in with Chinese history – and makes for an epic adventure. If you enjoy fantastical adventures in different settings (I’m looking at you Russian-Fantasy-Setting addicts) then I think you’d totally enjoy this series.
I’m so pumped to read the next book and find out what happens. There were so many awesome characters in the first book and I am LOVING the cover of this second book!! Pierre was kind enough to provide me with a sneak peak of the up coming book and I can tell you it’s sounding promising!
As of yet, there’s no release date or even a Goodreads page. But there is for the first one so I recommend heading over there and checking that out – hopefully soon there’ll be a few more details for this one!
