Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over @ Breaking the Spine. It’s great fun and a fantastic way to find out about new books. I particularly love rampaging through the internet to discover all the shiny goodies awaiting us in the future!

If you’re unfamiliar with WoW, essentially each week we get to feature an up and coming release of 2016 and discuss it for a bit. It’s really fun and exciting, and I highly recommend you head over to the official page to see everyone else’s posts, too!

 This week I’m waiting on . . .

The Rose and the Dagger by Renée Ahdieh

233080841

BOOK TWO IN: The Wrath and the Dawn series

Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy (retelling)
Author: Renée Ahdieh
Publisher: Putnam Juvenile
Pages: 432 {hardback}

RELEASE DATE: 3rd May 2016

This is book number two in a series so I won’t spoil anyone by posting the synopsis.

I am going to die with anticipation waiting for this book. I’ve only recently finished reading The Wrath and the Dawn and oh my goodness it was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this series and I’m super pumped to find out what happens next.

The story is packed full of adventure and is based off the story Arabian Nights. Therefore, being a retelling, Ahdieh has had much fun teasing us with weaving in the tantalising elements of Young Adult Fiction into a well treasured classic. IT IS SO GOOD. The first book is actually now one of my all time favourites because everything about it was amazing. I’m very anxious to know what happens to the characters – and I’m a little worried that I won’t be prepared to be blown away in this book (as I’m sure I will) – I just know Ahdieh has big things planned.

To help me tie over the wait there are several novellas that are being released:

I am entirely obsessed with this series right now and I cannot get enough of it. May is so far away right now!!

I will honestly read every other work of fiction that this woman pumps out, now. She is the goddess of writing and you should all be reading her books.

    1. I know! I know! I know!! I attacked Goodreads with my enthusiasm as SOON as I finished book one and I saw all the novellas and just arrrghh. I need more (but I can’t believe two of them are less than 10 pages?! What is this!!?). I hope they do a pretty bind up for the all the novellas at some point, too 🙂

      1. I have the second book pre-ordered from Amazon so it’s just a matter of counting down the days until it’s released. Why must May be so far away D:
I didn’t even realise there were novellas but less than 10 pages just doesn’t seem enough to me. If they did do a bind up of them I would definitely buy a copy! 😀
