That’s right people, today I’m doing a Disney related book tag! The Cinderella Book Tag was originally created by Tiffany over @ About to Read but I actually stumbled across it on the lovely Cyra’s blog, Rattle the Pages, who found it over at Brin’s Book Blog. Whew. All of those blogs are fabulous and you should absolutely go and check them out and see what their answers to this challenge were.

Now, I wasn’t tagged “specifically” to do this challenge but Cyra did leave an open invitation so I’m taking her up on that. I love Disney more than chocolate. There, I said it. If it was the end of the world and someone went KIRSTIE! Chocolate or Disney! I’d choose Disney every time. And probably cry a little in Frozen whenever Anna mentions chocolate.

But enough babble. Let’s get on to the challenge!

Both of these characters I absolutely hate. Cersei is just awful and I really, really hope she dies a most horrible death, but I’m sure she won’t because that’s how it always goes with these people. I’m sure you’re all familiar with Umbridge and why no-one likes her, yes?

These two men are probably my biggest fictional crushes out of everything I’ve ever read. There were so many potential candidates for this spot but Ren and Ash hold a special place in my heart for being that bit more irresistible than their competition.

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

Lucy

I am Malala is a very powerful book and the memoirs of Malala’s shooting and very near death experience with the Taliban. She will always be an inspiration for me. Lucy is my second favourite character from the Chronicles of Narnia (after Mr. Tumnus) and is a wonderful little heroine.

I actually found this one really hard to work out so in the end I went with Kaz, because he relies on Inej 100% to keep him safe. Kaz just isn’t Kaz without Inej.

 Helpful Creatures: something that makes you happy when you’re sad

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J. K. Rowling

Who isn’t made happy by this book? Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is the beginning of the best thing that’s ever happened to mankind since chocolate.

 Ashes: a book you didn’t care for

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

I’m sorry but I just didn’t get along with this book. The story just felt so dry and the characters super meh. I feel like if I were to re-read this and ponder over it maybe I’d appreciate it for what it is. But seeing as there are zero dragons involved throughout, I’m not all that fussed with giving it another go.

 Pumpkin: a character with a transformation

Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa

Meghan

Again, there are a whole load of characters who could’ve filled this spot, but I decided to go with Meghan from the Iron Fey series. In this third book Meghan has to make some pretty tough choices that completely alter her life. I won’t go into it as this is the third book, but what Meghan had to do had me in tears (mostly because it affected Ash, but shh).

 Impossible: a book with an ending you didn’t see coming

All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

Both of these books sort of threw a curve ball me. In All the Light We Cannot See I really didn’t expect things to turn out how they did. It was a stunning book but quite a few of the character’s fates were shocking and definitely not what I would have predicted.

Frankenstein is my favourite classic and I will never forget my first experience reading it and the shock I felt at the craziness of the book. The ending is so wonderfully morbid and leaves you a bit like, where’d all the characters go?

When Harry goes to Voldemort

Because if that scene doesn’t inspire you to be brave then I don’t know what will.

 Happily Ever After: a book with a perfect ending

Ensnared by A. G. Howard

Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo

THESE BOOKS. There endings were 100% perfect. Both had love triangles that needed resolving and both did so in a manner that had me raising my hat. There’s nothing quite like a perfect ending.
