Wishlist Wednesday [#1]

Whoa-ho! Look at me doing another weekly meme. Just when you thought Wednesdays couldn’t get anymore exciting, THEY DO. I’d seen this meme floating around a bit and thought, yes, that will do me just fine. Because I am the ultimate Wishlist creator. I love making lists (as you probably know) but I love even more when I get to make lists of books that I THEN plan on buying. It’s basically my version of heaven.

Wishlist Wednesday is all about featuring a book that’s been on your Wishlist for a while and you’re dying to buy and place upon your shelf. It’s hosted by Pen to Paper and a great companion to Waiting on Wednesday so that we can all look forward and back along our timeline of book buying . . . let’s pretend that makes sense. A fun thing I thought I might do was keep tabs on all these books and in my yearly wrap-up show a tally of how many of my wished on books I actually ended up getting. But that might be a tad too much effort . . . we will see.

Where do I make my lists? First and foremost I use my “sound good” shelf on Goodreads where I basically keep track of all the books I’ve encountered that tickle my fancy. BUT, The Book Depository has my most concise list of all the books that I so dearly want to throw my money at and look at on my shelf.

 This week I’m wishing on . . .

The Assassin’s Curse by Cassandra Rose Clarke

ADD IT ON GOODREADS

9781908844019

Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy
Author: Cassandra Rose Clarke
Published: October 2012
Publisher: Strange Chemistry
Pages: 298 {paperback}

Ananna of the Tanarau abandons ship when her parents try to marry her off to another pirate clan. But that only prompts the scorned clan to send an assassin after her. When Ananna faces him down one night, armed with magic she doesn’t really know how to use, she accidentally activates a curse binding them together.

I have had this book on my Wishlist forever and a day. I think the plot sounds really cool and I am in love with the cover. I’ve heard a variety of mixed things about the book in general but I am absolutely determined to read it one day.

For no particular reason, I’ve just never actually purchased a copy. Which of course meant that my excessive waiting around has resulted in The Book Depository running out of stock (for like, the last year), *sigh*. And no, my local bookstore does not sell this book as they have the smallest range of books ever. And any other option, like Amazon, is too expensive to buy from and ship to Australia! Woe is me!  So I’m now patiently waiting for an opportunity to arise wherein I can buy this book!

If anyone actually know where you can get a copy of this right now then PLEASE let me know.
