Page 394 [#2]

Okay, so I’m late, again. But it’s fine. It’s fine. Page 394 is a cute little meme hosted by Jessica @ Novel Cravings that started up shortly after Alan Rickman passed away this year. This is the official description:

Page 394 is an original meme that began here at Novelcravings. I wanted to start a meme in honor of Alan Rickman and what could be better than using the famous Professor Snape quote? The meme is simple, turn to page 394 in your current read or a favourite book, find a passage/quote you love and share it with us! Everyone is welcome to join just please remember to link back to this page and share the link to your blog post in the comments. The meme with go up on the 14th of every month. Enjoy!

I actually very almost just spoiled myself as I went la di da di da and turned to the 394th page of my book before going WAIT I haven’t read that far yet. That was a close one. So instead, I’m quoting from a book I just finished (which doesn’t quite hit the page count so I’m doing my maths thing about by restarting from the beginning until I do hit the page count) – but I’m cheating a little. Technically I should be quoting from page 37 but there was a better quote on page 42 and it’s close enough so WHATEVER. This month I’m quoting from:

Until I Die by Amy Plum

11438966

Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy (paranormal)
Author: Amy Plum
Published: May 2012
Publisher: ATOM
Pages: 357 {paperback}

“The tiny white flowers Geneviève is throwing – they’re arbutus.” She saw my confusion and corrected herself. “I forgot that they do not teach the language of flowers nowadays. That was a staple of a lady’s education. Every flower has its own meaning. And arbutus flowers mean ‘Thee only do I love.’ …”

~ Violette, Until I Die

From page 42 (equivalent of page c. 394).

This book was amazing. If you haven’t read this series then I don’t know what you’re doing with your life. Also, I’m very determined to learn the language of flowers now.

 What are you currently reading?
What’s a quote on page 394 of your book?
