A friendly theme for a friendly meme – okay, that didn’t really work. ANYWAY. Exploring My Bookshelves is a weekly meme co-hosted by Shannon @ For the Love of Words and Victoria @ Addlepates and Book Nerds. Each week we’re given a theme and get to feature one book on our shelf that corresponds to this. That, and we must put up a shelfie. It’s great fun and an awesome way to slowly acquaint yourself with other people’s bookshelves.

Your fictional best friend
And do you have any idea how difficult it is to think of one?! So after staring very hard at my bookshelf for a long time I think I finally have an answer for you. It’s a tricky one because it’s a bit of a one-sided friendship, am I right? But quickly! The shelfie:
If I could pick any fictional character to be my bestie this would be who I’d choose:
Lysandra from the Throne of Glass Series
Lysandra is a really interesting character throughout the Throne of Glass series. If you haven’t read Queen of Shadows yet then maybe leave now (also, why haven’t you read it yet?!).
I loved how massive her character arc is – if you can call it that. We know her as this spiteful and possibly even jealous character when it comes to her relationship with Celaena, and then in Queen of Shadows they become THE ULTIMATE gal pal team. She has Celaena’s back and is just the most excellent addition to that little team ever.
So yes, if I could have anyone to buddy up with, it would be her. She’s loyal, protective, and incredibly resourceful. Plus she’s great for a bit of girl time. What more could you want?
