As I’m a big Goodreads user I always rate my books out of 5 stars. This is how the site breaks it down:
- 1 Star: did not like
- 2 Stars: it was ok
- 3 Stars: liked it
- 4 Stars: really liked it
- 5 Stars: it was amazing
And I think that’s a pretty good way to go about things. I try to be selective and reserve my 5’s for amaaazing books – but I get excited and give them out more than you might think. I do do half star ratings, but only when I really can’t decide on a book.
The way I view rating, is that I’m rating the book against my expectations of it, how well it was executed grammar/plot wise, and if it met it’s full potential. So there you go!
