October Wrap-Up! | 2020

I had a really good reading month in October! Whilst I might have (definitely) strayed from the TBR I set myself, I thoroughly enjoyed all of the books that I read. This is a very five star heavy reading month, you have been warned.

I hope you all had a wonderful month in October and had a wonderful Halloween if you celebrate! We don’t do much in Australia, but I always enjoy the fun of carving a pumpkin and watching a themed film! This year we watched Coco!

Genre: Non-fiction, Memoir
Author: Stephen Fry

This is the final book in Fry’s memoir trilogy and I did really enjoy it. It was a little messily structured compared to the first two but I’m a massive fan of Fry and love finding out more about him!

I loved this! There have been a few contradictory reviews about this one but my recommendation is to read this yourself and form your own opinion. A lot of the negative reviews I’ve seen a quite out of context. I can’t wait for book two!

This was also incredible. I watched the TV documentary and then had to read the book. Thank you very much to Penguin for sending me a review copy because this was well worth the read, it really adds a bit to the show.

This I loved! This is a retelling of the bible story if Jesus had a wife and I couldn’t get over how well done it is. I found it incredibly atmospheric and so amazing to visualise. I can’t recommend this enough!

what about me

October was hectic! I am slowly being consumed by assignments at uni but I’m so nearly done as I’m writing this!! There has been a last flurry of assignments and then I have a BIG external exam coming up. I’m super nervous about that one! It’s an accreditation exam so that I can work as an editor. Which is super duper exciting, but no pressure right.

As for reading, I had a nice TBR set up for October but I only got to half of them (I didn’t get to Aristotle & Dante nor Royal Assassin (sequel to Assassin’s Apprentice)). But I LOVED so many of the books I read.

I didn’t do anything else exciting, however, it really was just a week of assignments so I’ll leave this wrap up sweet and short!
