The Disney Song Book Tag | PRIDE EDITION

I’m back with another tag!! After sniffing around the internet for a fun book tag to do I found this one over at The Book Nut (who has a massive list of book tags). It was originally created on YouTube but unfortunately, the original video no longer exists! Gah!

But I’m quite excited to go through these questions and HAVE SOME FUN. In addition to this, to celebrate Pride Month I’ve put a spin on this where my answers can only include LGBT+ books. I confess I really want to expand my LGBT+ reading because I’ve discovered a good number of new recommendations lately but these are some tried and tested favourites! So let’s GO!

Part of Your World

What book world would you change yourself
for so you could be a part of that world?

28356624. sy475

This is an easy one right?! I would 100% change myself to be a witch so that I could go Watford School of Magicks with Simon and Baz. These two are life and I want to be friends with them. Also, the school sounds like a hot mess and I think that would be fun too.

Let It Go

What book did you not want to finish because you
loved it so much?

36341204. sy475

Literally THE greatest LGBT+ story of all time. I LOVE this story. Albertalli and Silvera are a POWERHOUSE. If you haven’t read this you are actually, genuinely, seriously missing out. I did not want this to end and I want a sequel or just to be able to read it again for the first time.

Beauty and the Beast

What book do you think is/will be timeless?

24926015. sy475

I’m right though, aren’t I? Simon will always be a thing. It is immortalised. [NB: BECKY ALBERTALLI IS QUEEN]. There is something undeniably beautiful, naive and sweet about this story that everyone loves.

So This is Love

What book were you hesitant to read at first but
ended up loving?

36320723. sy475

I was hesitant to start with because there was so much hype around this one and I just worried it wouldn’t be as amazing as other LGBT+ romance stories. But omg, this is great, guys. I truly loved this book because the difficulties these kids face are so tough!

Friend Like Me

Which character would you like to be your best
friend
?

29283884. sy475

We all want Monty as our naughty best friend. Don’t lie. He’s absolute trouble and you just know that your life would never be dull with him in it. Monty is totally ridiculous and I just relate to his overactive internal monologue so much.

Reflection

What book really made you think/changed the way
you viewed things?

25692886. sy475

This really made me take a step back and appreciate the power of diversity in books. Until I read this book, I had not read a book that spotlighted disabilities so strongly. The entire cast of characters in Borderline are disabled one way or another and recruited a defence against fae coming into reality. This is a spellbinding queer urban fantasy that I would highly recommend.

Colours of the Wind

Who do you tag?

I’m going to go crazy here and talk some booktubers too. I know, wild.
I challenge everyone I tag (and anyone else who wants to do this) to answer the prompts only using queer books!

Cait @ Paper Fury

Stef @ Noveltea Corner (Stef I tag your Booktube
but go for your life and do it on your blog if you want!)

Bec @ Becklepanda

Kat @ Life and Other Disasters

Lila @ Hardcover Haven

Sofii @ A Book A Thought

Amanda @ Cover 2 Cover Mom

Shannon Jade @ Shannon A. Jade Books

Jade @ Just Perfiction

Jackie @ Death by Tsundoku

Happy reading!
