The BFF Book Tag

Whenever I see someone doing this tag the first thing I think of is the BFG by Roald Dhal – I absolutely adored that book when I was young.

The BFF Book Tag

Welcome all to The BFF Book Tag! Thanks so much to The Orang-utan Librarian for tagging me, I’m pretty excited to do this one! So let’s crack on shall we?

Setting the Example: A Pair/Group of Book BFFs That You Love

Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters from The Fault in Our Stars

FullSizeRender

Call me cliché and slightly bending the rules but WHATEVER. Despite the fact that this is romance relationship, every relationship starts as best friends, yeah? And I love the amicability between these two despite the mushy stuff. Gus and Hazel (without the cancer) are my squad goals, let’s face it.

Childhood Bestie: Which Book Character Would You Have Liked to Grow Up With?

Inej from Six of Crows

FullSizeRender

Inej is just about as fabulous as you can get. And I would have LOVED to have grown up together (sans the tragic backstory and plus more happy frolicking through daisy fields). She’s just so unbelievably cool that AH. I can’t deal. I feel like if Inej were real and I were to come across her on the street, I would just collapse. That would be it. So heck YES I’d want to claim that I grew up with her!

Frenemy: Which Book Character Would Bring out Your Competitive Side?

Celaena Sardothien from the Throne of Glass Series

FullSizeRender

I’m a pretty competitive person at the best of times. I’m one of those people that’ll say I’ll keep pace with you whilst running and then next minute be sprinting off into the sunset because UH-UH you ain’t beating me. So I think it would certainly be interesting if I were friends with Celaena . . . Especially if she threatens my chances of stealing Dorien. Ahem.

Fashion Guru: Who Would Be the Bestie Whose Closet You’d Want to Raid or You Would Want to Go On a Shopping Spree With?

Kelsey from Tiger’s Curse

FullSizeRender

I’d 100% choose Kelsey because oh my goodness the clothes that she wears in these books. Whilst technically Ren is picking these clothes out (where can I find me one of these men?) the Indian dresses that he gives her to wear and beyond to die for. Someone please make this into a movie and I will cry tears of joy.

The Bad Influence: Which Character Would You Want to Commit a Small Act of Rebellion With?

Ismae from the His Fair Assassin Trilogy

FullSizeRender

Because Ismae is so passively badass (that’s totally a thing) and I feel like she would really be so much fun to do things with. I can just picture us now, frolicking around a forbidden forest, gaily shooting baddies with our cross bows whilst Duval prepares a picnic for us once we’re done. *Sigh*

Blood Brothers: Which Character Would You Want to Be Your Surrogate Big Brother/Sister?

Xavier from The Halo Series

FullSizeRender

Because whilst Xavier is adorable and potentially snog-worthy, I feel like he shines out more as the big brother role. I loved how well he treats his siblings and I wouldn’t mind having him as my big brother. Although I’m sure I’d think otherwise if that were the case.

Mother Hen: Which Character Would You Want to  Be By Your Side When You’re Having a Bad Day to Cheer You Up?

Puck from The Iron Fey Series

FullSizeRender

Because this guy, whew, he’s fabulous. If ever I were in a dull mood then nothing would cheer me up like the painfully funny quips of Puck. Whilst Ash is a total heartthrob, this series would be nothing if it weren’t for Puck.

The Counsellor: Which Character Would You Go to For Relationship Advice or Confide a Secret To?

Aslan from The Chronicles of Narnia

FullSizeRender

Laugh all you like, but you can’t deny that Aslan is basically the guru for everything. If I was having boy troubles then I feel like a good ruffle of his mane and a reassuring snuggle filled with giant paws would do wonders to make me feel better. I also feel that he’s a pretty fabulous secret keeper.

More Than Friends: Who Would Be Your Book Boyfriend/Girlfriend?

I feel like now is a good opportunity to roll out my list buuut, I’ll pick one main one:

Ren from Tiger’s Curse

FullSizeRender

Shoot me down for using this book twice but no-one will ever compare to this beautiful specimen. However, hot-on-his-heels contenders would be:

  • Ash from The Iron Fey
  • Loki from The Trylle Trilogy
  • Maxon from The Selection Series
  • The Darkling from The Grisha Series
  • Edmund from . . . no who am I kidding, I just love Skandar Keynes.
  • Tamani from The Wings Series
  • Dorian from the Throne of Glass Series.
  • Morpheus AND Jeb from the Splintered Series . . . and I’m going to stop there.

  1. Thanks so much for the tag Kirstie! This one sounds like so much fun, there are so many characters from books I can think of for all the questions. I completely agree with you, Aslan would give such great advice and I would love Inej to be my childhood friend as well!

    1. You’re welcome! I hope you have fun doing it 🙂 I think I need a shirt or a mug displaying my love for Aslan, “Lions Welcome”, “Say No to Turkish Delight”, “One Mane to Rule Them All” – something like that!
